Mothers Spirit is a sculptural wall piece shaped by the flowing rhythm of Mother Nature. Its form follows a natural movement — organic, calm, and continuous — as if guided by an unseen current.
The work is handcrafted from naturally tanned leather and finished through a carefully built-up surface of multiple layers of paint. Several tones of brown are applied to create depth and nuance. To warm the base of the leather, the material was soaked in old coffee grounds, allowing the pigment to settle into the skin in an irregular, natural way.
The surface is then treated with multiple layers of beeswax, giving the leather an almost deep, wood-like appearance. A final lacquer finish seals the work, enhancing its richness while protecting the material.
Mothers Spirit is a sculptural artwork created for the wall. It can be easily mounted with a single nail, allowing it to float subtly against the surface.
